The Hazard Perception Test evaluates your ability to anticipate and respond to hazards and is an essential element of your licence requirements. When you’re driving, you need to observe the environment and quickly respond to hazards that may appear unexpectedly. You can access the test through the Department of Transport and Main Roads website and it will take you about 45 minutes to complete. The Hazard Perception Test is only available online, and you will be required to pay a fee once you pass. You will get a letter from the Department of Transport and Main Roads letting you know it’s time to take your Hazard Perception Test. To apply for your Class C P2 provisional licence in Queensland, you need to have been on your P1 provisional licence for at least 12 months. Important: You cannot take your test until you have received notice from DTMR that your logbook has been approved. Once you have completed and filled out your hours, submit your logbook to the Department of Transport and Main Roads at least 12 business days before your practical driving test for assessment and verification, and they will contact you with the result.
